The movie story deals with a kindhearted man, known as "Relangi mavayya" ("Relangi Uncle") by his family, lives in the village of the same name. His middle-class family consists of his wife, mother, niece Seetha and three children: two sons (Peddodu, "the elder" and Chinnodu, "the younger") and a daughter, Chinni. Peddodu is an introvert, who lives life on his own terms and is unsociable. Although Seetha wants to marry him, her love is apparently unrequited. Chinnodu is the opposite of his brother. He falls in love with Geetha, the daughter of Seetha's paternal uncle who is jealous of Chinnodu's father and denigrates his family's economic status. Although the family is close-knit, the brothers do not communicate well with each other. Geetha's sister recommends a marriage for Chinni to a relative of her in-laws. At the wedding, Peddodu and Geetha's father argue in the backyard about the latter's sarcasm, increasing tensions further. Several days later, the brothers plan to leave for Hyderabad to find work. Geetha invites Chinnodu to lunch without without telling him that her whole family will be there. Chinnodu and Geetha's father argue, again over the latter's sarcasm. When Geetha tries to calm the former, Peddodu is upset after knowing about their love affair. He abruptly leaves Relangi and Chinnodu, dejected, stays behind. This affects his relationship with Geetha, whose father has found her a husband. Although Seetha is also pressured to marry a man suggested by Geetha's father, Peddodu and distant relative Kondala Rao convince the bridegroom to reject the proposal. Relangi Uncle is injured in an accident in an attempt to save a young man. His condition stabilises, and the young man turns out to be the son of Peddodu's former boss' brother. The former employer apologises for his past misbehaviour, and offers Peddodu another job; the gulf between the brothers widens. Peddodu, Chinnodu and their family visit Bhadrachalam Temple for Rama Navami, the annual kalyana of Rama and Sita, and meet Geetha's family there. The guest of honour, an MLA, asks Relangi Uncle to participate in the procession. Geetha's father is surprised by this, and an electrical problem then arises. With help from volunteers and the police the brothers save the day, setting aside their differences and rescuing Geetha's family. Relangi Uncle praises the brothers for their courage, telling them about them the importance of family, love and brotherhood. This changes their attitude and that of Geetha's father, who is eavesdropping on the conversation. Seetha is overjoyed to see the brothers reunited, and for the first time, Peddodu calls her by name instead of "Hey!" and "Oy!". They are married, and Chinnodu and Geetha's wedding is planned after her father reconciles with Relangi Uncle's family. The brothers send gold bangles to their grandmother, evidence that they have found work.

Synopsis :- Virat (Vijay) is a car racer who lives with his large family in Chennai. They come to Malaysia at a time when internal rivalry and problems are surfacing in Koccha's family. Koccha's younger sister Devi (Trisha Krishnan) has refused to marry Soori (Pawan), the brother of Konda Reddy (Ashish Vidyarthi), Koccha's Kadapa-based business associate, as per Koccha's wishes. Irritated and preoccupied, neither Koccha nor his henchmen want to devote any time or attention to resolve his problem. Virat is ill-treated and thrown out of Koccha's place without any help rendered. Determined to return to India only after his father's issue is solved to his satisfaction, Virat conceals himself in Koccha's palace-like residence. He soon finds out about a large diamond owned by Koccha and steals it, feeling that it would pay off his father's debt, and returns to India with Pons. Koccha's Sisiter also follows Virat to India, having fallen in love with him.

His troubles start from there as Chella's father, a criminal don named Vedanayagam, with the help of his right-hand man and corrupt police officer Kattabomman, begins to create havoc in Ravi's life. Ravi is soon thrown in jail on a false case of drug smuggling and is expelled from college. Only Suseela is willing to actively help him. Suseela goes to Devaraj to garner support to help Ravi, but Devaraj refuses to help as his entire family had died at the hands of Vedanayagam and his henchmen as a result of trying to take action against them, with Devaraj himself made completely blind by Vedanayagam. However, with the help of his henchmen, he saves Ravi from being killed in a fake encounter led by Kattabomman. It is at this stage that Ravi takes up a new persona called "Police" Ravi to clean up the illegal activities of Vedanayagam and instill hope in the public, something that Devaraj was unable to do.

The movie begins with Sivan who is a Madurai-based don, being cornered by a gang while taking his pregnant wife to the hospital. He manages to thwart the gang, following which he adopts his slain driver's son Shakthi. Shakthi witnessed his father being killed by a police officer during the fight, which induces a hatred for the police in him to such an extent that he does not tolerate others wearing a khaki shirt or even dreaming of becoming a police officer, including his friend Gopal, who aspires to join the police when he grows up. Several years later, Shakthi, now a young man, has become Sivan's most trusted aide, assisting him in his criminal activities and also twinning as his bodyguard and driver. His aversion for the police has not waned, even rejecting a woman named Shanthi, for whom he had an infatuation after witnessing her admonishing two female police constables taking a bribe until he found out that she is a police inspector herself. Life goes smoothly for Sivan and Shakthi until the new police commissioner for Madurai takes charge. The commissioner takes Sivan to the outskirts of Madurai, threatens him to quit his nefarious activities or else face arrest, following which he leaves him there. This incident leaves Sivan humiliated, prompting him to force Shakthi to join the police to save his crime syndicate and prove the commissioner's word's wrong. Shakthi, due to his hatred for the police, deliberately fails the exam and physical tests required to become a police officer, but still ends up becoming a police officer due to Sivan's "backroom dealing". Shakthi reluctantly takes up the job as Assistant Commissioner, giving Sivan and his henchmen a free rein to perform their criminal activities. However, after witnessing a mass scale destruction caused by Sivan and his gang, which led to the death of several innocent people, including children and mothers, being admonished by Shanthi for showing disrespect for the police profession, and witnessing the assault of a woman at the hands of Sivan's gang, he changes gears and decides to become an honest and upright police officer. He lodges Sivan's henchmen in prison, and tries to convince Sivan to give up his criminal activities, which does not go well with him, forcing them to part ways.
